...for the pre-hiatus episode, but only because Andrew and I just HAPPENED to be hanging out at the time. :) I'll try and post the audio tonight.

It will have no editing.

Just FYI.

Do not expect production fireworks. We got this file and just enough time to hit "upload" and update the feed. But we thought you guys would want it anyway. :)

And one thing to say about that episode:

That cage sex could NOT have been hygenic.

Hey guys:

Did you enjoy the opening of the season? We did. Well, I did, but I didn't ask John or Andrew about it yet. I'm sure Andrew liked it. John's moved six apartments in the past three days or so, so he's been occupied and probably hasn't seen it yet. I have only one thing to say: Why did the flight split in two? Has no one questioned this yet? If Desmond's magnetic magic only attracted the plane to the Island faster, WHY two parts? There had to be forces pulling at either end of the plane for that. So are there two nexii to this weird electromagic? (Note, I know it HAPPENED, doi, we know the back of the plane blew off in season one, and knew it split around season two-ish...what I want to know is WHY. It's just not been discussed enough around my sphere, which admittedly is not very wide. A crash is one thing; cracking like an egg is quite another. It could have crashed in any machination of ways - split down the middle? Why? Why were there two forces, seems to be the question, pulling them in opposite directions?)

Anyway: As you've probably gleaned, we didn't watch it together, which only means one thing: We didn't record. And we're not going to.

We're sorry, guys. Totally LOST is dead. Done. Gone. Bye. We did have fun while we were doing it, but it became a real hassle to align everyone's schedules to watch it together, and then we were suddenly putting way too much effort into a series that we don't have time to put way too much effort into. We're busy people to begin with, and the whole idea of this show (which some unexcusably rude people missed, then had the irony to call others stupid in the comments) was that we would be laid back about it, won't try and read all the theories, would experience it as pure audience members. If that made us seem so "dim," sorry. Like it or not, and no matter who the writers actually write it for, LOST is indeed for people who can watch it in a one-hour-per-week commitment. The show is in real danger of alienating new audiences who can't snap on to all the lore and theories, who've never looked it up on the internet, and who shouldn't have to. If they're requiring background reading material for people's evening entertainment they're going to go downhill VERY fast. I'm willing to bet that 90 percent or more of audience members barely remember the name of the Hanso foundation, have never heard of the Lost Experience outside of those weird commercials, and think "Bad Twin" is the name of a 1970s "Days of Our Lives" episode. The idea behind Totally LOST was that we were that viewer, because an hour a week was all we could give.

But guys. It turned quickly into five hours a week, between planning and scheduling and recording. And, as we said so plainly, none of us has that to give. And we do have Potter podcasts to take care of, and prioritize. And we want to just sit back and watch the show, and be regular viewers. If the test here was whether one can be a regular viewer of something one podcasts about, the answer is probably no.

This blog will stay up, probably, and we might come here and squeal as the major revelations come through this year. Thanks to the 10,000 listeners, 9,950 of whom we never thought would show up. If we thought we could keep it up, we would. The truth is, I had a better time watching the opening of the show this season than I did most of last season, because I didn't have to worry about anything but watching.

So who should you listen to instead of us? If you don't already, The LOST podcast with Jay and Jack: They are the collective bomb, those tow, and nice to boot.

Everyone at the Totally LOST Fan Forums, you were way too nice to us all the time!

And to everyone over at the Thanks, guys! See you when Benry Gale gets his face chewed off, because that'll be cause for some celebration!
Later peeps,
Melissa

WILL BE OUT TONIGHT.

Get your season finale ready to re-watch, listen-along to, in time for the premiere of season three. It's how we planned it all along. Really.

Wow. There are a lot of you here now. When did this show get 10,000 listeners? While we were doing all the Potter stuff, apparently.

We're very sorry for the holdup, but we told you guys straight out, at the beginning, that this was a lower priority than our Potter responsibilities - and we had a LOT of Potter responsibilities in the past few months. William did have the correct links to my files from the beginning, but they were accidentally linking to John's; by the time this was sorted out we had to move the files away. I gave him the correct links a few days ago.

Well, look at it this way. You'll get the episode just in time to remember what happened at the finale for the new season. Right? Right. :)

Thanks for the patience, and for understanding, and we'll see you all soon!

-Melissa

Well, it's been 250 comments and quite a lot of criticisms, defenses, and dawlishes. As such, I felt that as part-time editor, I should fill you in on a few things. You may ask why I'm doing this now and it is because I'm really overstepping my territory as editor of only a few episodes by leaving a post on the blog of a podcast that truly is not mine, but enough time has past that you devoted fans deserve a little info. And here it is:

1.) As of today, I have John and Andrew's recordings. I do not have Melissa's because either something is the matter with her links or my computer, and I have not seen fit to badger her anymore than I have already.

2.) No I have not been fired, canned, sacked, etc., but the quality of my editing is probably deserving of such actions.

3.) I do not know when the podcast will be out because I don't know when I am going to get Melissa's recordings sorted out. I will try to contact her next week, hopefully she will see my post and contact me first in that time, but no promises there.

4.) I will be stepping down as editor after this episode because my school schedule will be far too hectic to try and fit in editing a podcast every week. I'm sure that Melissa, John, and Andrew will be able to find someone else far more qualified than I with there huge fan base, so worry not.

Thank you all for your committment to this podcast and I would like to make it immensely clear that these are the words of me and me alone. I thought after weeks of waiting you deserved some answers in turn for your devotion.

Sincerely,

William Blake

OK, we're finally recording the show, which means we're finally WATCHING the show. Expect it out fairly soon! :) As soon as William can crunch it up and spit it out. Damn, we're excited.

FYI to answer all the emails: we are recording the show tomorrow - which MEANS, none of us have SEEN it yet so if any of you spill the beans on the comments we might kill you with one of Locke's knives.

:)

So here's what happened, folks:

We recorded the show, and a tech problem frustrated us - it's probably fixable, and only takes some creative editing on John's part, but the problem is, as most of you know, we're supercrazybusy editors who had no business starting a podcast that needed serious editing ANYWAY.  None of us have time to fix this, so we might release the thing with the first 10 minutes missing, or just not release it, or something. We don't know. In short, we were all sorta bored with the Rose and Bernard parts (how cruel and heartless are we? Still, get us into that HATCH, people, follow Jack and Kate, give us an Other, give us Mr. Friendly, give us Ethan in a tutu, we don't care, just stop messing around!), John's leaning to the electromagneticmania theory, Melissa's wondering where the hell Jack's dad is (yes, honestly, tell us weirder things than someone supposedly dead being not-so-much dead haven't happened on this show, and why are we not worried that his body has not been found but his coffin was, you know, not even damaged in the crash?), and Andrew...well, Melissa's writing this post from memory, and has no idea what Andrew contributed because she was dead at the time. Sorry, big guy; edit in here if you remember, because I suck.

And now, the point: Are you an audio editor who's dying to do some thankless behind the scenes work chopping this thing together each week? Email us! We'll love you lots.

PS: How flattered are we that you made us these fan forums? Very. Clearly we're not deserving of them, or you'd have a show to listen to this week... :)
